Pete and I thoroughly enjoyed the recent bramble ramble. From the outset, meeting in the car park everyone was very friendly, great; being our main reason for joining any group is to meet new friends. We were able to enjoy very many chats all the way round while picking the blackberries. We enjoy the ‘great outdoors’ and hadn’t realised what a lovely place we have on our doorstep and what is better than just roaming around on our own is to be introduced to the area by those who know it well. THEN we were welcomed so generously to the bbq round at the ranger’s hut. We were ready to dip our hands in our pockets to buy hotdogs or beefburgers but there was no charge. Other members also contributed food creating a pleasant atmosphere of sharing. Jean even supplied two scrumptious cakes and a batch of cherry scones for dessert…Plus we managed to pick 3lbs of blackberries later resulting in three delicious crumbles. A fantastic evening all round. Thank you.
